Guwahati: Today, Shri Parimal Suklabaidya, the Minister of Transport, Excise & Fisheries in Assam, inaugurated the Guwahati-Bikaner Express at the Guwahati Railway Station. This train has undergone extensive upgrades and has been transformed into a modern LHB rake, aimed at enhancing safety and passenger comfort on all Indian Railways trains.

Addressing this significant event, Minister Suklabaidya emphasized the consistent commitment of the BJP-led Union Government to prioritize Northeast India in its efforts to improve the railway travel experience.

The recently upgraded LHB train, numbered 15634/33 Guwahati – Bikaner – Guwahati Express, is scheduled to depart from Guwahati every Saturday at 10:40 hrs. Over the course of its journey, it will cover a distance of approximately 2328 kms in about 43 hours. Indian Railways has been consistently dedicated to offering a safer, faster, and more comfortable travel experience to the residents of the North Eastern region, and the transformation of the Guwahati – Bikaner – Guwahati Express into a modern LHB rake marks a significant milestone in this endeavor.

Today, the Minister engaged in a significant meeting with high-ranking officials from the NF Railway Division at the Guwahati Railway Station. The attendees included officials at the level of DCM, Sr DCM, Chief Commercial Manager, and more. During the discussion, the Minister urged them to establish a consistent train service between Brahmaputra and the Barak Valley. He also emphasized the need to consider converting weekly trains into daily ones, taking into account the substantial population of the Barak Valley and the considerable volume of passenger traffic utilizing the railway network.

The officials committed to taking all requisite measures to guarantee that train services adequately address the daily passenger transportation needs between the two locations.
