At least 50,000 people isolated
Dhaka,/New Delhi 26 Aug :- At least 50,000 people were caught in a flood in Rangpur of Bangladesh, as the water level of the Tista River continues to rise due to heavy rains. Heavy rains continue on Saturday in Rangpur.
Local media quoted the Bangladesh Water Development Board Control Room informing that Tista River was flowing 10 cm above the danger level at Dalia, and 33 cm above the danger mark at Kaunia. Rangpur’s Kaunia and Gangachara are flooded. Houses in at least 25 villages are inundated. All 44 gates of Tista Barrage have been opened.
