New York, 12 Sept (HS): India has extended help to Afghanistan and supplied India much-needed food grains to the crises-ridden nation.

India supplied 50,000 Metric Tonnes of food grains, 26 tonnes of relief packages, 200 tonnes of medicines, vaccines, and other medical items. About 11,000 units of Women’s Health Kits and blankets for the women’s rehabilitation centres have also been supplied, according to the Indian representative at the 54th meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Conference..

Afghanistan is facing problems after the Taliban came to power two years ago. India is supplying food grains, medical help, and other materials to Afghanistan on humanitarian grounds. During the six months of this year about 1.6 crore (16 million) people could get food because of the Indian supplies.
