Nagpur, 9 February : Srikar Bharat and Suryakumar Yadav made their debut for India in the first match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia starting today in Nagpur. In this match, Australia won the toss and decided to bat first.

At the time of the toss, Indian captain Rohit Sharma said, “Had we won the toss, we would have batted first. The wicket looks very dry. Spinners will get help. We’ll have to wait and see how much it does. When we started training yesterday, we saw some seam movement for the fast bowlers. For the last 5-6 days, we have prepared well. We know the importance of the series. This is a long series. We are going in with three spinners, two fast bowlers, Bharat and Suryakumar Yadav making their debut.

Whereas Australian captain Pat Cummins said, “We are going to bat. We have prepared well. We think we’re in a really good position. Todd Murphy has been included in the team. At the same time, Peter Handscomb has replaced Travis Head.

Both the teams are as follows-

Australia: David Warner, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Steven Smith, Matt Renshaw, Peter Handscomb, Alex Carey (wk), Pat Cummins (c), Nathan Lyon, Todd Murphy, Scott Boland.

India-: Rohit Sharma (Captain), KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Shrikar Bharat (wicketkeeper), Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Akshar Patel, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj.
