CBI files charges against 3 officials in Balasore railway accident case

New Delhi, 2 September : While investigating the train accident in Balasore, Odisha, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a charge sheet in the court on Saturday. On July 07, three railway officials were arrested on charges of culpable homicide and destruction of evidence.

It is noteworthy that in the train accident that took place in Balasore, Odisha on June 2, 296 people lost their lives, while 1200 people were injured. The investigation of this accident was handed over to the CBI. The CBI had arrested three Senior Section Engineer (Signal) Arun Kumar Mahant, Section Engineer Amir and a technician Pappu Kumar posted in Balasore district on July 7 in connection with the investigation into the train accident.
