Raipur, 1 September : President Droupadi Murmu on Friday reached Adishakti Maa Mahamaya Devi Temple located in Ratanpur, a historical and religious city in the Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh. Here he duly offered prayers and wished for the happiness, prosperity, and progress of the countrymen. On this occasion, the majestic makeup of Maa Mahamaya Devi was done.
For the first time, the President has reached the temple of Mahamaya Devi in Ratanpur. During this, Governor Vishwabhushan Harichandan, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, and union Minister of State for Tribal Development Renuka Singh were also present.
The historical and religious city of Ratanpur has a glorious history. Ratnadev I, the ruler of the Kalchuri dynasty, made Ratanpur his capital and built the Adishakti Maa Mahamaya Devi temple here. This temple was built in the 11th century. Mother Mahamaya was the Kuldevi of the kings of the Kalchuri dynasty of the Ratanpur branch. A grand fair is organised here in both the Navratris, where people from every district of the state come and have a darshan of Maa Mahamaya and place their wishes in front of her.
