Beijing, 29 Aug : The US and China agreed to broaden commercial relations, with the representatives of the two countries holding a meeting on Monday in Beijing. China’s Commerce Minister Wang Wentao and US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo held a discussion that was ‘logical, clear and constructive’, both announced. Raimondo’s China tour is being given importance by the media.
Wang and Gina issued a joint statement to the media saying that both agreed to initiate discussion some economic issues. Both parties agreed to reduce the tensions between the two greatest economies. A discussion on serious policies like tariffs under section 301 of the US; semiconductor policy, restrictions on investment, restrictions imposed by China etc was also held. Both parties held open and logical discussions.
A statement issued by the American Commerce Ministry says that Raimondo laid emphasis on open discussion between the two.
