Imphal, 31 August : A huge quantity of firearms has been seized in the troubled region of Manipur. These weapons were confiscated by security forces.
The weapons seized from Sambirok Hill Range in Imphal West include eight SE grenades and 10 tube launchers. Apart from this, one M16 rifle, one single barrel gun, one 9 mm pistol, one Point Tutu pistol, an empty INSAS LMG magazine, a Chinese hand grenade, seven 7.62mm ammunition, 16 AK rifle cartridges, and eight INSAS bullets were seized.
No arrests have been made in this case, but the seizure of a huge amount of ammunition has sparked a widespread reaction.
