Noida: The Institute of Management Studies (IMS), Noida, organized a BBA Haat at its Sector-62 campus, providing management students with a practical platform to apply classroom knowledge in real-world business scenarios. The event, conducted by the BBA department, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who set up around 40 stalls and demonstrated their entrepreneurial skills, creativity, and management capabilities through diverse products, services, and interactive activities.

The initiative was designed to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical exposure, allowing students to experience firsthand the challenges and dynamics of operating a business. The BBA Haat transformed the campus into a vibrant marketplace environment, where students conceptualized business ideas, managed stall operations, interacted with customers, and handled finances, thereby gaining valuable insight into entrepreneurship and management practices.

A wide variety of stalls were set up by students, offering food items, fashion and beauty products, music-based entertainment, recreational games, and home décor items creatively made from recycled materials. These stalls attracted significant attention from fellow students, faculty members, and visitors, creating an energetic and engaging atmosphere throughout the campus. The event provided students with an opportunity to apply marketing strategies, customer engagement techniques, and sales planning in a live environment, strengthening their confidence and practical understanding of business operations.

Rajeev Kumar Gupta, President of IMS Noida, appreciated the students’ efforts and emphasized the importance of experiential learning in modern management education. He stated that in today’s highly competitive environment, theoretical knowledge alone is not sufficient, and practical exposure plays an equally critical role in shaping capable professionals. He noted that initiatives such as the BBA Haat help students understand real-world market dynamics, analyze consumer behavior, and learn the fundamentals of financial planning and operational management.

Gupta further highlighted that such experiential learning programs prepare students for real industry challenges by encouraging innovation, independent thinking, and problem-solving skills. He added that when students engage in simulated business activities, they gain a deeper understanding of entrepreneurship, risk assessment, and customer expectations, which are essential components of professional success in the business and corporate sectors.

During the event, senior academic leaders and faculty members visited the stalls and interacted with participating students to observe their work and encourage their entrepreneurial initiatives. Vikas Dhawan, Director General of IMS Noida, commended the students for their creativity and organizational abilities. He stated that programs like the BBA Haat play a significant role in developing leadership qualities, teamwork, financial awareness, and communication skills among students, all of which are crucial for building successful careers in management and entrepreneurship.

Dhawan also emphasized that hands-on learning opportunities enable students to develop confidence and adaptability, helping them transition more effectively from academic environments to professional roles. He noted that such events foster innovation and motivate students to explore business opportunities beyond conventional academic frameworks.

J. K. Sharma, Advisor at IMS Noida, described the event as a powerful platform for students to showcase their talent, creativity, and entrepreneurial mindset. He expressed satisfaction at seeing students actively participating and applying their management knowledge in practical situations. Sharma observed that the event allowed students to demonstrate teamwork, leadership, and innovation while gaining valuable experience in planning, execution, and customer interaction.

Neelam Saxena, Dean at IMS Noida, stated that the primary objective of the BBA Haat was to provide students with exposure to real-market environments and encourage them to become self-reliant and innovative. She noted that such initiatives help students develop a deeper understanding of business processes, including product presentation, customer engagement, pricing strategies, and operational planning. Saxena added that the event not only showcased student talent but also created a festive and collaborative atmosphere within the institution, promoting active participation and experiential learning.

Ramesh Kumar, Head of the BBA Department, explained that the main aim of the event was to familiarize students with marketing techniques and business practices in a creative and practical manner. He stated that students were responsible for planning their stalls, designing promotional strategies, managing resources, and interacting with customers, which helped them understand the complexities of running a business.

He further highlighted that such activities encourage students to think innovatively and develop problem-solving abilities while improving their organizational and decision-making skills. According to Kumar, experiential initiatives like the BBA Haat help students gain confidence and prepare them for entrepreneurial ventures and corporate careers.

The successful execution of the event was carried out under the joint leadership and guidance of faculty members Yatika Rastogi and Rachna Gupta. Their coordination ensured smooth organization, effective student participation, and overall success of the program. Faculty members played an active role in mentoring students, guiding them through planning, marketing, and operational aspects, and ensuring that the event achieved its educational objectives.

The BBA Haat served as a live learning laboratory where students were able to test business concepts, understand customer expectations, and experience the practical aspects of entrepreneurship. By managing stalls and engaging with visitors, students gained exposure to essential business functions such as product development, pricing, marketing, negotiation, and customer service.

Such initiatives reflect IMS Noida’s continued commitment to providing industry-relevant education and preparing students for future professional challenges. The event reinforced the importance of experiential learning in management education and highlighted the institution’s focus on nurturing entrepreneurial talent, leadership capabilities, and practical business skills among students.
