New Delhi, August 25 : India has denied China’s claim.Sources say that a request from the Chinese side for a bilateral meeting with the Indian side is pending. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping had an informal conversation at the Leaders Lounge on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in South Africa.

It is notable that China’s Foreign Ministry claimed that President Xi Jinping spoke to him on the sidelines of the BRICS summit on August 23 at the request of Indian Prime Minister Modi. During this, Xi said that the two sides should take into account the overall interests of their bilateral relations and properly handle the boundary issue so as to jointly safeguard peace and tranquilly in the border area. At the same time, while giving information about the Modi-Jinping meeting yesterday, Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra said that an agreement has been reached between the two leaders to reduce tension on the border.

Prime Minister Modi underlined India’s concern over the disputed issues in the western sector of the LAC in front of Xi Jinping. It was also made clear that respect and peace in LAC are necessary to make relations normal.
