Khelo India: Archery competition will start in Jabalpur from Wednesday

Jabalpur, 31 January (HS): The archery competition at the Khelo India Youth Games 2022 will begin on Wednesday, February 01 at Jabalpur. The archery competition will be held at the cricket stadium located at Ranital Sports Complex. Various players in the country have reached Jabalpur to participate in the competition. Around 108 players are participating in the archery competition.

The Khelo India National Youth Games had a grand opening on Monday evening in Bhopal in the presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur. Four sports Kho-Kho, archery, sword fighting and road cycling competitions are being organized in Jabalpur in Khelo India. On the first day, competitions of boys and girls were held in Kho-Kho. Teams from eight states each are participating in both categories. Kho-Kho matches are being played on mats under a huge dome.

Eight matches will be played today. There will be eight Kho-Kho matches in the Khelo India Youth Games today (Tuesday). In these, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh and Delhi and Chhattisgarh in Group B will have a match in the first session starting at 10:30 am in Group A of the boys. And in the girl’s category Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh will play in Group A and Orissa and West Bengal in Group B.

There will be four matches in the second session at 3:30 pm. In this, the teams of West Bengal and Tamil Nadu in the boys’ category Group A and Orissa and Andhra Pradesh will compete in Group B. Similarly, in the girl’s section, Punjab and Tamil Nadu of Group A and Karnataka and Rajasthan of Group B will play matches.

The players who came to Jabalpur from every corner of the country to participate in the Khelo India Youth Games were very happy with the welcome and hospitality accorded here. The players lauded not only the playing field but also the arrangements ranging from accommodation to transport and food.

Tanmay Saha, Nitai Kar and Mintu Kumar Da, the coaches of the Kho-Kho boys and girls teams of West Bengal, termed the players’ stay in Jabalpur, travel to and from the playground and food arrangements as excellent.
