New Delhi, 31 August : The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs is organising the Prize Distribution Function of the 33rd National Youth Parliament Competition, 2022–23, for Kendriya Vidyalayas on September 1st in Parliament House Complex, New Delhi. union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal will preside over the function and give away the awards.
The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has been organising youth parliament competitions for Kendriya Vidyalayas for many years. Under the scheme of the Youth Parliament Competition for Kendriya Vidyalayas, the 33rd competition was organised during 2022–23 in 150 Kendriya Vidyalayas located in 25 regions of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.
The aim of the Youth Parliament Scheme is to inculcate self-discipline, tolerance towards diverse views, the right expression of one’s views, and other qualities of a democratic lifestyle in the young generation. Apart from this, the scheme also acquaints the students with the practices and procedures of Parliament, techniques of discussion and debate, and develops self-confidence, leadership qualities, and the art and skills of effective thought-provoking in the youth.
In this 33rd competition, Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh (Jabalpur Region, Southern Zone), will be awarded the Nehru Running Shield and trophy for securing the first position at the national level. Apart from this, divisional winning trophies will also be awarded to the four schools that secure the first position at the divisional level in the competition. In this competition, regional winning trophies will be given to 20 schools for securing the first position at the regional level.
