New Delhi, September 9 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi met US President Joe Biden at his residence on Friday night, who had come to attend the G-20 summit. According to the MEA statement, the Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for President Biden’s vision and commitment to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. It is based on shared democratic values, strategic partnerships, and strong people-to-people ties.

Prime Minister Modi’s Historic State Visit to the US: Progress and Outcomes

The two leaders appreciated the progress made in implementing the futuristic and comprehensive outcomes of Prime Minister Modi’s historic state visit to the US in June 2023, including India-US cooperation in Initiatives on Critical and Emerging Technologies (ICET). The two leaders welcomed the continued momentum in bilateral cooperation, including in defence, trade, investment, education, health, research, innovation, culture, and people-to-people relations.

Historic Landing of Chandrayaan-3: President Biden Congratulates India

President Biden heartily congratulated the Prime Minister and the people of India on the historic landing of Chandrayaan-3 near the Moon’s south pole and highlighted the deep cooperation between the two countries in space. The two leaders also exchanged views on several regional and global issues. They agreed that the India-US partnership is beneficial not only for the people of both countries but also for global well-being.

Prime Minister Modi thanked President Biden for the continued support received from the US in ensuring the success of India’s G-20 chairmanship.
