New Delhi, 12 September: India has completed its year-long G20 Presidency with a successful culmination of a two-day-long Leaders Summit recently held in New Delhi.

Attended by the leaders and high-level delegates from the member countries and invitees, India’s Presidency successfully managed to build a consensus among world leaders on the emerging problems of the turbulent world order, including those related to food and energy security, climate change, and global debt vulnerabilities. At the summit, further leveraging the platform, India also pushed hard to amplify the concerns of the Global South. Under its Presidency, in line with its long-standing position, India added the African Union as a permanent member of the powerful G20 grouping.

It is pertinent to note that Delhi underwent an aesthetic makeover for the G20 summit. Besides installing potted plants and devising a cleaning plan, the National Capital also beautified itself to showcase the artistic heritage of India. Moreover, on the sidelines, India did not leave any stone unturned in highlighting India’s rich history on the global platform through the gifts presented to world leaders, their spouses, and international delegates.
