Shimla, August 19 : Bharatiya Janata Party National President Jagat Prakash Nadda will visit his home state, Himachal Pradesh, on Sunday, August 20. During this, he will take stock of the devastation and loss of life and property due to heavy rains and floods in different parts of the state.
BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal said on Saturday that Jagat Prakash Nadda will be on a tour of the state on Sunday to take stock of the heavy losses caused by heavy rains, floods, and landslides in Himachal Pradesh. He will also meet the family members of those who lost their lives in this natural calamity. He said that he would also visit the site of the ancient Shiva temple destroyed due to heavy rains at Summerhill, Shimla, and would also discuss relief, rescue, and rehabilitation work with the local administration in Shimla and Bilaspur.
Bindal told me that JP Nadda will reach Paonta Sahib (Sirmour) at 9 a.m. After this, he will reach village Sirmauri Tal and Kachhi Dhang by road at 09:35 am, where he will take stock of the situation arising out of the cloudburst in the Sirmauri Tal area and meet the family members of the five members who died in this accident. The National President will reach Shimla’s Shivbawdi, Summerhill, at 11:20 am, where he will take stock of the ancient Shiva temple site destroyed by heavy rains. It is worth mentioning that the bodies of 16 people have been recovered so far in this accident. Relief and rescue work is still going on. After this, Nadda will inspect the damaged houses in the Krishna Nagar area from Shimla bypass.
Bindal said that Nadda would hold a discussion with the local administration regarding relief and rescue operations at Hotel Peterhof in Shimla at 1 p.m. At 3:15 PM, National President Nadda will reach Circuit House, Bilaspur. He will meet the bereaved families who suffered loss of life and property due to heavy rains, floods, and landslides here and discuss relief, rescue, and rehabilitation programmes with the local administration.
