Jaipur, 2 September : The National Commission for Women and the State Commission for Women took cognizance on Saturday of a woman being paraded naked by her in-laws in Rajasthan’s Pratapgarh district. The commission has given instructions to take strict action against the culprits in this whole matter and present the report before the commission. National Commission for Women Chairperson Rekha Sharma has asked the Director General of Police to submit the report in five days. Seeing the seriousness of the incident, the chairperson of the Rajasthan State Commission for Women, Rehan Riaz, has left for Pratapgarh. Here, BJP national president JP Nadda attacked the Congress government hard before coming to Rajasthan. He wrote on X that the video of Pratapgarh is shocking and that there is a complete absence of governance in Rajasthan.

Before coming to Rajasthan, Nadda tweeted that the video of Pratapgarh in Rajasthan was shocking. What is worse is that governance is completely absent in Rajasthan. The Chief Minister and ministers are busy settling factional fights, and the remaining time is being spent appeasing a dynasty in Delhi. It is no surprise that the issue of women’s safety is being completely ignored in the state. Every day, some incident or another of harassment against women comes to light. The people of Rajasthan will teach a lesson to the state government. The Rajasthan BJP has formed a three-member committee regarding this matter, which will reach the spot and present the report. State General Secretary and MP Diyakumari, State Minister Krishna Katara, and Sojat MLA Shobha Chauhan have been included in the committee.

Actually, in the case of this incident, the Gehlot government has been besieged from all sides. After the BJP, the National Commission for Women condemned the incident. Speaker Rekha Sharma has asked for a detailed report of the incident in five days while instructing the DGP to arrest the culprits. As soon as the information about the Pratapgarh incident was received, State Women’s Commission President Rehana Riaz and her colleagues left for Pratapgarh. Condemning the incident, Riyaz has given instructions to higher officials for quick action. He said that considering the crime committed against the woman as serious, the commission has decided to monitor the case on a daily basis, visit the spot to ensure women’s safety, and take appropriate action to punish the culprits as soon as possible.

It may be noted that in a village under Dhariyavad tehsil in Pratapgarh district, a case of a married woman roaming around naked came to light on Thursday. When its video went viral on Friday, the police and the administration swung into action. It is being told that the woman was married a year ago, and after that, she went somewhere else with the neighbor. Angered by this, the in-laws reached the village, took the woman out of the house, and stripped her naked. After that, she was paraded naked through the whole village.
