Islamabad, 11 Aug : Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif claimed that his brother and former PM Nawaz Sharif would return to Pakistan next month. Shahbaz will visit London to meet his elder brother after the new caretaker government takes over.

According to the local media reports, Nawaz Sharif will lead the campaign of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Party for the next general elections in Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif is in London since November 2019, quoting health grounds.

Nawaz was booked for corruption by a court and left for London for treatment in November 2019. He stayed in London since then. Nawaz resigned as Prime Minister following a Supreme Court verdict against him in 2016. He was held guilty in the Panama Paper Leak case and his appeal against the decision is pending in the court.

Shahbaz expressed the hope that his party would win the general elections and he would work as a party worker under leadership of Nawaz Sharif. The process to dissolve the National Assembly is in progress, following recommendation by Shahbaz on August 9.
