Kathmandu, 10 Aug : Nepal Government has cleared the proposal of receiving 21 remotely piloted aircraft drones from China. The cabinet accepted the proposal on Thursday.
Minister for Information and Telecommunication Rekha Sharma informed the media about the clearance of the proposal by the Nepal Government Cabinet. The drones will be given through China’s Public Security Department, under Security Under Grant Assessment. A discussion about the supply of drones was held during the China tour of Home Minister Narayankaji Shreshtha.
The Aircraft Drones will be used by the Armed Police Force for monitoring the border, illegal immigration, smuggling, and other international crime. Although it is said that the drones will also be used on the Nepal-China border, their use on the Indian border could pose problems for Indian security.
