Kathmandu, 05 Sept (HS): An independent legislator from the Saptari constituency of Madhesh Pradesh in Nepal, Aniruddha Sinh Yadav has been arrested in a murder case that is about one-and-a-half decades old. The arrest was made based on an order of a district court.
Saptari District police spokesperson DSP Naresh Kumar Sinh said that Aniruddha Sinh Yadav is an accused in the murder of Govind Choudhary (32) in 2008. Yadav was elected as an independent candidate nine months ago. In the files of the police, he is recorded as absconding.
Police informed the assembly of the region about the arrest of Aniruddha. The decision of his de-recognition as a member of the Assembly will be taken soon.
