Chandigarh, 01 September : Those going to the country’s capital, Delhi, via Haryana from Amritsar will now have to loosen their pockets further. New toll rates have come into force in Punjab and Haryana as of Friday. Therefore, now those going from Amritsar to Delhi will have to pay an extra toll as compared to earlier.
Ludhiana’s Ladowal toll has been increased by Rs.15, and Haryana’s (Bastada) Karnal has been increased by Rs.10 from today. The National Highway Authority has issued orders in this regard. Rs.165 will be charged for a single trip for a car or Jeep at the Ladowal toll. Rs.245 will have to be paid for multiple trips in 24 hours, while the monthly pass will be made for Rs.4930.
Similarly, for light commercial vehicles, a single trip at this toll will be Rs.285 and multiple trips in 24 hours will be Rs.430. Trucks and buses at the Ladowal toll will cost Rs.575 for a single trip and Rs.860 for multiple trips within 24 hours. The new rates for a single trip for a car or Jeep at the Bastada toll in Karnal, Haryana, will be Rs.155 from today. These vehicles will have to pay Rs.235 for multiple trips in 24 hours and Rs.4,710 for the monthly pass.
A light commercial vehicle will have to pay Rs 275 for a single trip, Rs 475 for a 24-hour multiple trip, and Rs 8240 for a monthly pass at Bastada. The new rates for trucks and buses have been fixed at Rs 550 for a single trip and Rs 825 for multiple trips in 24 hours. A monthly pass for these vehicles can be made for Rs 16,485. A single trip for double axle trucks will cost Rs 885; a multiple trip will cost Rs 1325; and a monthly pass will cost Rs 26490.
New rates have also come into effect today on the toll made at Devi Nagar in Ambala. For a car-jeep, one has to pay Rs 95 for a single trip, Rs 140 for a 24-hour multiple trip, and Rs 2825 for a monthly pass. Rs 165 for a light commercial vehicle, Rs 245 for multiple trips in 24 hours, and Rs 4945 for a monthly pass. For trucks and buses, Rs 330 for a single trip, Rs 495 for a 24-hour multiple trip, and Rs 9890 will have to be paid for the monthly pass. Double-axle trucks will have to pay Rs 530 for a single trip and Rs 795 for multiple trips in 24 hours.
