New Delhi, 22 August (HS): The SDRF has recovered the body of an elderly pilgrim from Maharashtra who was washed away from Kisal in the Yamunotri River. The incident happened on Tuesday morning.
It was informed that elderly pilgrims from Maharashtra had gone to the banks of the Yamuna today to offer prayers. During this, his foot slipped, and he was swept away in the river. According to this information, while conducting a search operation, the SDRF found the person dead in the Yamuna river near Kharadi.
On identification, the said person was identified as Bhav Saheb s/o Shyam Rao (42), a resident of Village Dadol Tehsil Bajpur District, Aurangabad, Maharashtra. On the spot, his wife told him that they had come on a pilgrimage. After visiting Yamunotri, he stayed at a hotel in Kisala. At around 06.20 in the morning, her husband had gone out to take a bath in the Yamuna River. Due to a sudden foot slip, he was swept away in the Yamuna River. The police are taking advance legal action by taking CHC Barkot.
