Liverpool, 31 January : Everton Football Club has appointed Sean Deitch as the new manager of the senior men’s team. Everton sacked their manager Frank Lampard after a 2–0 defeat against West Ham United.
The defeat at West Ham United saw the club move up to 19th in the Premier League standings. The club was winless in 10 matches in all competitions.
Deitch has agreed on a two-and-a-half-year contract until June 2025 and will take charge for the first time for the Premier League clash against Arsenal at Goodison Park on Saturday.
On his appointment, Deitch said: It is an honour to be the manager of Everton. My staff and I are ready and eager to get this great club back on track. I know the passionate fans of Everton.
The newly-appointed coach said in a statement issued by the club: We want to bring back a good spirit. We need fans, we need unity and we need everyone to unite. It is with us as employees and players.
Everton chairman Bill Kenwright said: Kevin and I spent some valuable time with Sean over the last few days and he quickly convinced me that he has all the qualities to make himself a great Everton manager that can inspire our fans.
