New Delhi, 22 August :Chhattisgarh-based Coal India subsidiary SECL will provide free residential medical coaching to class 12 students under its corporate social responsibility initiative Sushrut of SECL. The company will provide guidance and coaching to students to help them prepare for the National Medical Entrance Examination (NEET).
The move will greatly benefit students from economically weaker backgrounds, especially those living in villages in the coal belt areas of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, who aspire to become doctors but are unable to afford medical coaching.
The selection of students for coaching will be through a competitive exam based on the same pattern as NEET. Under this programme, coaching will be provided to a total batch of 35 students in partnership with a private coaching institute based in Bilaspur. The programme will be residential, with regular national-level test series and guidance, and will include accommodation and boarding facilities.
The last date for online registration is September 6. The selection test will be conducted on September 10. To be eligible to apply for coaching, a student must have passed 12th grade in 2023 with a minimum of 60 percent marks.
