New Delhi, 10 September (HS). Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin attended the dinner organised at Rashtrapati Bhavan in the honour of G-20 heads of state amid increasing tension between Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over the Sanatan Dharma issue for the past several days. Discussion The topic remains.

In fact, President Droupadi Murmu organised a dinner for the delegates of the G-20 summit on Saturday. Many Chief Ministers of Congress-ruled states had decided not to attend this dinner. They allege that Congress Committee National President and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge was not invited to the dinner. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy could not attend the dinner as he was abroad. Apart from this, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and Telangana’s K Chandrasekhar Rao had decided to stay away from the G-20 dinner despite the official invitation.

In such a situation, among the states of South India, the participation of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin in this banquet has become a topic of discussion. That too when the DMK and BJP are at loggerheads after a comment by Stalin’s son, Udhayanidhi Stalin, on Sanatan Dharma. The special thing is that Stalin’s DMK is a partner in the opposition Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance (INDIA).

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister also uploaded a photo of the G-20 dinner on Twitter after attending the dinner at the new convention centre, Bharat Mandapam. In this photo, Stalin is shaking hands with US President Joe Biden, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is standing next to him. Due to Stalin’s participation in this programme, discussions are hot in political circles.
