Temple Name and Location:

Trimbakeshwar Temple, also known as Trimbak Temple, is situated in the Trimbak town of Nashik district in the state of Maharashtra, India. It is perched on the banks of the holy Godavari River, making its surroundings serene and picturesque.

History and Significance:

Trimbakeshwar Temple boasts a rich history dating back to over 2,500 years. Legend has it that this temple houses one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, representing an embodiment of Lord Shiva. The temple architecture is a blend of ancient and medieval styles, featuring intricate carvings and sculptures.

Deity:

The primary deity enshrined in Trimbakeshwar Temple is Lord Trimbakeshwar, a manifestation of Lord Shiva. The Linga here is unique as it has three faces symbolizing Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Mahesh (Shiva) collectively.

Prasad:

Devotees can relish the prasad, which includes laddoos and a holy thread called “Rudraksha.” These offerings are believed to carry the blessings of Lord Shiva.

Puja Timings:

The temple opens for darshan (worship) at 5:30 AM and remains open until 9:00 PM. Devotees can participate in various rituals, including the Rudrabhishek, performed at specific times during the day.

The temple complex has facilities for Annadan, a tradition of offering free meals to pilgrims. Devotees can partake in the simple yet delicious vegetarian meals provided by the temple.

Trimbakeshwar is well-connected by road. The nearest major city is Nashik, approximately 28 kilometers away. Visitors can reach Nashik by train or bus and then hire local transportation to Trimbak. The nearest airport is Gandhinagar Airport in Nashik.
