London, 20 Oct : UK Prime Minister Liz Truss resigned on Thursday following continuous criticism by her own party members, relating to her economic policies.
Liz economic policies sent shockwaves through the market and was scanner by her colleagues in the party. Her economic policies divided the party.
Liz resigned after 45 days of being in power, after defeating Indian-origin Rishi Sunak, about six weeks ago.
She told media, “given the situation, I cannot carry out the mandate for which I was elected… I will remain as Prime Minister until my successor is selected”.
