New Delhi, 28 February : In a latest development, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has given a nod for the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) meeting on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. In UNSC meeting, as many as 11 votes were in favour of calling UNGA meeting. India kept itself abstain on the issue. Although India put forward its concern over the safety of its students stranded in Ukraine.
While addressing the media after the UNSC meeting on current situation in Ukraine, UN General Secretary Antonio Guterres said, Russian military operations inside the sovereign territory of Ukraine “on a scale that Europe has not seen in decades, conflict directly with the United Nations charter.”
On the other hand, after the two-hour ultimatum given to Ukraine by Russian President Vladimir Putin, delegations from both the sides are face to face for negotiations in Belarus.
