Beijing, 28 Aug : Gina Raimondo, United States Secretary of Commerce, arrived here on a four-day China tour. She is the fourth US officer to tour China within a short period of three months.The tour is aimed at boosting business ties between the world’s two largest economies.
Director General of China’s Commerce Department Lin Feng welcomed Gina at the airport. Besides efforts for improving business relations tension between the two is also likely to ease.
The US has blocked China’s access to advanced semiconductors, while China is restricting shipments from prominent chip company Micron Technology and raided and fined US firm Mintz Group $1.5 million for doping unapproved statistical work. These issues are likely to be discussed during Gina’s visit.
