Dehradun, 22 August: As soon as the Chief Minister returned from Delhi, he reached the State Emergency Operation Centre located at the Secretariat. During this, he took information from the officials about the excessive rains and losses in the state. Along with this, instructions were given to rehabilitate the homeless families and bring an education scheme soon for the children who have lost their parents.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister spoke to Tehri and Pauri District Magistrates over the phone and inquired about the damage caused in these districts. In view of the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the Chief Minister directed all the District Magistrates to remain in alert mode as well as to maintain constant coordination with all the allied organizations. Along with all the items related to food grains, sufficient availability of medicines should also be maintained in the districts.
Chief Minister Dhami also asked the high officials of the government and Secretary Disaster Management to maintain constant coordination with the district magistrates.
The Chief Minister said that many people in the state have been affected by excessive rains. Some people have lost their family members. Many people have become homeless. A scheme is being introduced soon for such people. Arrangements will be made for the rehabilitation of the homeless and training for their employment. Arrangements will be made under this scheme for the education of the children who have lost their parents in this disaster.
The Chief Minister said that there is a disaster situation in the state due to excessive rains. There has also been considerable damage to roads, bridges, houses, crops, power, and water lines. Due to excessive rains in the state, property worth more than one thousand crores has been damaged. The team of the central government has also done a preliminary survey of the damages being caused in the state. The assessment of the damage caused by the disaster is being sent to the centre.
On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Secretary Shailesh Bagoli, Secretary Disaster Management Dr. Ranjit Sinha, Additional Chief Executive Officer, State Disaster Management Authority Riddhim Agarwal, Additional Secretary Savin Bansal, and officers of various departments were present.
