Washington, 18 Aug : A Canadian woman who tried to poison former US President Donald Trump has been awarded a 22-year imprisonment. District Judge Dabney Friedrich sentenced 56-year-old Pascale Ferrier for sending letters laced with poison to Donald Trump when he was the President.
The deadly letter addressed to Trump was intercepted in September 2020 before delivery to the White House. On completion of the jail term, Pascale will be deported from America. She holds the nationality of Canada and France.
Ferrier said that she regretted that her plan had failed and that she could not stop Trump. She also said that she sees herself as an activist and not a terrorist. Ferrier was arrested in September 2020 in Buffalo, New York while trying to cross the border. She was carrying a gun, a knife, and explosives.
