Beijing, 18 Aug : Chinese President Xi Jinping will be on a three-day official visit to South Africa to participate in the 15th BRICS summit in Johannesburg next week.
Jinping will be in South Africa from August 21 to 24 and is visiting on an invitation by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. This would be the second official foreign tour of Jinping this year after his Russia visit at the beginning of this year. The last visit by a Chinese President to South Africa was in 2018 when strengthening diplomatic and economic relations was discussed.
During the BRICS summit, issues relating to the global economy and strengthening geopolitical relations will be discussed.
