Nagpur, 28 February: Yuvraj Sambhajiraje Chhatrapati has withdrawn his hunger strike on Monday evening. The State Government has assured to accept all his demands.
Maharashtra Government ministers Dilip Walse Patil, Eknath Shinde and others visited the pandal and assured Sambhajiraje to withdraw the indenfinite hunger strike. They assured that all his demands have been accepted by the Government. The major demand was related to reservation or Maratha community.
Yuvraj Sambhajiraje was on hunger strike at Azad Maidan, Mumbai to protest delay in pleading reservation for Marthas, by the State Government. He has also stated that unless written assurance is given by the State Government, he would not withdraw his agitation. Meanwhile, agitation in his support started in Kolhapur and Pandharpur.
An urgent meeting of major representatives of Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) was held at residence of the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and a selected delegation of ministers met the Chhatrapati. The agitation was withdrawn fpollwoing assurance by the government representatives that all his demands have been accepted and action on them will be taken soon.
