Veteran politician Maneka Gandhi, an 8-time Member of Parliament, has officially filed her nomination for the Sultanpur Lok Sabha seat, declaring total assets worth ₹97.17 crore. The disclosure came through an affidavit submitted on Wednesday in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
The breakdown of Gandhi’s assets includes ₹45.97 crore in movable assets and ₹51.20 crore in immovable assets. Her financial details show a slight decrease in bank holdings from ₹18.47 crore in 2019 to ₹17.83 crore currently. However, there has been significant growth in her investments in debentures, shares, and bonds, with revenues jumping from ₹5.55 crore in 2019 to ₹24.30 crore. Additionally, her post office savings have increased from ₹43.32 lakh in 2019 to ₹81.01 lakh.
The affidavit also lists personal possessions including 3.415 kg of gold and 85 kg of silver, valued at approximately ₹2.82 crore, and a rifle worth ₹40,000. Maneka Gandhi’s declaration highlights her substantial financial growth over the past four years as she seeks re-election in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
